We went to Austin a few weeks ago with some friends and we had a BLAST! This was our first overnight trip as a married couple and that was so exciting too! We did such a cumulation of things and ate some REALLY good food!
Things to do:
Go kayaking! We had such a blast kayaking. Jeremy did most of the work, but we had an awesome time just relaxing on the lake and watching all the cute little turtles swimming around us.
Austin has so many neat murals around the city to take pictures with. Some of these we had done before and some were new. I feel like this is such a fun thing to do, especially with friends who can take pictures of us. Scroll down to the bottom to find a small ATX murals guide!!!
Go for a hike. We went hiking by the Barton Springs, but Austin has so many neat places to go hiking. We did like 5 miles total, it was insane. It didn’t even feel like we walked that much, it was such a beautiful trail.
Places to eat:
We found this really cool food truck park near Barton Springs that had a handful of trucks and they were all so different. There was Italian food, Chinese, Mexican, American, Cupcakes, just everything and it was all SO good!!
We ate the best burgers at Hopdoddy in Austin. It was so good, if you live in the Cypress area there’s a Hopdoddy in The Vintage. The burger was so good and the fries were AMAZING.
For dessert one night we went to Lick Honest Ice Cream and I ate the best salted dark chocolate ice cream. It was so creamy and so good. They have them in Austin and in San Antonio, we almost went to Lick on our honeymoon!!
We ate the biggest and tastiest pizza on S. Congress, Home Slice. It was so good and the crust was so good!! It was just a really good pizza place. The pizza was so greasy, but so stinking good.
