3 commuting to-do’s

Driving a 40-minute commute to and from school can be hard. I made my schedule fit perfectly, to have the day flow. I live just far enough away to make a trip home not worth it. But, when I finish a test early, the weather changes by the time I get to school or I get unexpectedly hungry, here is a few tips to get you through those annoying situations.

  1. Back a snack. Even if you only have one class and you don’t normally get hungry back a snack! It can something simple like goldfish or, my personal favorite, banana chips and peanut butter. Putting something in your backpack to snack on just in case will save you from spending unnecessary money at the cafeteria!
  2. Keep some clothes in your car. Keep a regular jacket and rain jacket in your car. The weather is so unpredictable and you don’t want to be stuck somewhere without it. Also, keep a pair of shorts and a t-shirt in the back of your car. If you spill something on yourself you have a back-up.
  3. I always bring something to work on. Bring stuff to work on even if it’s for a class you don’t have that day. If a class is unexpectedly canceled or cut short you should use that time to do something productive. Even if I don’t have my laptop I try to always have my iPad so I can easily get access to work online.
