Grace upon grace

Processed with Snapseed. This has become one of my favorite verses, John 1:16. The long version is, “Out of His fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.” (NIV).

I have shortened it to, Grace upon grace, because that is what it is. He gives us grace upon grace upon grace upon grace.
How comforting is that? No matter what we do. No matter how far we go. He will always give us grace upon grace.

I hold grudges sometimes and to think if God did that I would be screwed. I would be in a roadside ditch, in a world of hurt. But, that’s the thing about God, He doesn’t hold a grudge He gives me grace.

This verse isn’t just a comforting verse, but it is a reminder to always give grace. To allow people a second chance or not a second chance, but to forgive them. I have this verse all over my room, I have created so many paintings with the verse on it. I love this. I need this verse! I need this reminder to give grace and take a breath. I need this reminder that God gives me grace upon grace, always.
